Status: Native

Size: Maximum length 1100 mm and weight  3.2 kg, but most individuals are <700 mm long and weigh less than 400g.

Description: A large, elongate and cylindrical eel, olive green above paler ventrally. Also known as Silver eel.

Location: Primarily found in coastal streams outside the region but occasional records come from inland streams escarpment; this eel can cross large barriers including dam walls and overland.
