The larvae of other Cossidae may also look like that. It needs to be reared to the adult to identify its species.

All you need is a clean jar with a fabric top held by an elastic band. I suggest giving it a chunk of carrot to eat, but it is probably mature and ready to pupate, so put some dry soil to absorb excreted fluid.
