Hi All,
Thanks for your patience in general while much of the country has been smashed by bushfire. Today as we speak, ash is raining in the Canberra CBD.
The NatureMapr build team have been working really hard and closely with Mike Leggett from the Budawang Coast Nature Map on getting a new feature added to the platform so that nominated moderators can easily add new "points of interests" such as "watering stations" for our struggling and beautiful wildlife.
Thank you so much Mike for the innovative approach to getting this tool up and running in response to the fires!
The feature is being added to both the mobile and web platforms and should make it so much easier to report key points of interest like this which are not distinctly "sightings" in their own right, but more so "points to keep an eye on".
The great thing about the NatureMapr "points of interest" feature is that every point of interest automatically builds up its own species list and list of sightings that have been reported within vicinity to the point. So we're building up a picture of which species have been reported visiting these critical watering stations shortly after this major bushfire event.
Thanks for your support and patience while we push out this important feature to support our bushfire affected communities.
